Providing proactive solutions in the battle to decrease pet homelessness in Maricopa County.

2017 was the start of Fix.Adopt.Save. funding free spay/neuter services to Maricopa County residents through its own FAS S/N Voucher Program; a program in partnership with 10 veterinary clinics and three mobile clinics around the Valley.

In an effort to amplify our impact and assist the ever-growing need, we added a neighborhood-centric spay/neuter mobile program in 2019. This second program allows for FAS to focus on locations lacking accessible and affordable spay/neuter services, and neighborhoods with the highest intake of stray animals, pit bulls, and chihuahuas.  By removing barriers, hundreds more can partake in these much-needed services to provide their pets and our communities with a healthier and safer future. 

Fix.Adopt.Save. is the largest provider of no-cost spay/neuter services in Maricopa County.

During this annual weekend event, 900 pets fixed on-site and 1,500 FAS S/N Vouchers distributed.

These events provided Maricopa County residents the opportunity to partake in a weekend of on-the-spot spay/neuter services (with all the trimmings) and more. We also provided over 1,500 FAS Vouchers for Free Spay/Neuter services to the people in line who did not get a spot each morning; all in an effort to curb the number of pets entering the shelter system due to accidental litters, strays roaming for mates, and owner surrenders due to unaltered pet behaviors.

Fix.Adopt.Save. hosted the annual Pittie Palooza event each year beginning in 2014 to 2019.  Six AMAZING years of bringing the community, pets, and organizations together, under one roof.

Pittie Palooza is an event to showcase our Pit bull companions & debunk the myths around our friends; one of the most-at-risk breeds in our shelters. Pittie Palooza provided a day of adoptions, a kids zone, a photo booth, Free vaccinations, low-cost microchips, and FAS Vouchers for free spay & neuters and more.

The key to Fix.Adopt.Save. is collaborative partnerships - Partnerships that lead to positive impactful results while assisting the pets in our shelter system and people in our communities.

In September of 2019, the Alliance for Companion Animals with the City of Phoenix Mayor shared the then results of Fix.Adopt.Save. initiative efforts. Collaboration and over $5M in spay/neuter and pet wellness services between 2012-2019.

Alliance adoption partners joined efforts to host a Valley-wide adoption weekend event, during 2018 and 2019.

This adoption weekend focused on the "long-timers" (cats and dogs are often overlooked due to their age and breed) and provided them time in the spotlight to find their forever home. These weekends resulted in over 180 pets finding homes.

Fix.Adopt.Save. officially launches in April 2013.

2012 was a year of preparation and strategic planning between, the already formed, Alliance for Companion Animals coalition and core funders - PetSmart Charities and Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust.

Created as a three-year project, FAS proved to be a success with life-saving results beyond expectations. FAS is grateful to continue its positive impact in Maricopa County with the support of Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust.
