Each year, over 36,000* animals are adopted from Alliance member shelters, yet thousands of animals are still in need of homes. Adopting a shelter pet from a shelter or rescue group is one of the most rewarding things you can do for you and the pet. From emotional benefits to physical benefits, pets can impact our lives in tremendous ways. In addition, there are many other benefits when you choose to adopt a pet from a shelter or rescue group.
You’ll save two lives – the one you adopt and the one you make room for.
Most pets adopted from a shelter/rescue are spay/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
